This interactive workshop is an inspirational think tank that provides essential tools for practicing diversity and sustaining its power over the long term. Topics include: de ning diversity, common diversity myths, and challenges; moving past stereotype anxiety; how to con dently talk about diverse topics; instilling a diversity mindset among young readers; inspiring others to experiences and share diversity’s promise; tools for independent reading through a diverse classroom library; creating a support community; and seven steps to “Representative Reads.”
