Advertising a IOt and in many different ways is a big part of getting shoppers to visit your Book Fair. Make
sure to direct your advertisements to different audiences, including teachers, students, parents, and volunteers. If you
build it, they will come, but only if they know about it!

0 Brainstorm with your Student Crew simple, clever slogans that promote your Fair, books, and reading.
0 Repeat those slogans in phone calls, letters, emails, posters, and social media to help it stick in parents‘
minds. Use #mybookfair
- Start early! share Book Fair teasers three to four weeks before you kick off Book Fair week. Use a countdown sign
and your advertising slogan in flyers and posters.
- Have a student or faculty member be a sign spinner at carpool line and place plenty of banners, bandit signs,
posters, and arrows around the school.
0 Hand out save-the-date trail maps when books are checked out from the library. Be sure to include the dates,
times. and place of your Book Fair!
0 Hold an all-school rally to kick off the Book Fair. Include booktalks, skits, and lots of fun.
0 Create a fun video to get the whole school excited about the Book Fair. See back cover for an exciting
new opportunity.
