Family Events Put Book Fair Sales Over the Top
Jo Ann Ford Elementary School Georgetown, TX
At Jo Ann Ford Elementary School’s Bookaneer Book Fair, the Book Fair chairperson, school staff, and students made sure that it wasn’t just a pirate’s life for everyone — it was a reader’s life! Their Family Events kept the Book Fair week fun going strong with a Bookaneer Grandparents’ Luncheon and their largest event, the Trunk or Treasure Family Night. Local businesses do- nated food and profits, kids competed in the annual dodge ball tournament, families voted on the best trunk while filling up their bags with loot, and even the local senior community brought their reading dogs to promote literacy. Family Night boasted record-breaking sales and more than 350 participants!
