PRESENTERS
Donalyn Miller is a leading expert on independent reading, children’s literature, and the author of two best-sellers, The Book Whisperer and Reading in the Wild. She is founder of the annual #bookaday event, co-founder with Colby Sharp of The Nerdy Book Club, and co-host of the monthly Twitter chat, #titletalk. Her most recent book is co-authored with Colby Sharp, Game Changer! Book Access for All Kids. Todd Nesloney is the principal and lead Learner at a PreK-5 school in Texas. He is an award-winning author for his work in co-authoring Kids Deserve It!, Flipping 2.0: Practical Strategies for Flipping Your Class, and his brand new release Sparks in the Dark. He has also written the 2018 book Stories from Webb and published a children’s book, Spruce & Lucy. Todd has been recognized by the National School Board Association as one of the “20 to Watch” in education, a “Top
40 Innovators in Education” by the Center for Digital Education, the “National Elementary Principal of the Year” and “National Elementary Teacher of the Year” by the BAMMYs, “Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year” by the Texas Computer Education Association, and a “Champion of Change” by the White House as a Connected Educator. Dr. LaQuita Outlaw is an adjunct professor at St. Joseph’s College, working
with graduate students on reading development. She shares her expertise in literacy and administration with colleagues through her involvement with several professional organizations. Dr. Outlaw is the co-president of the Su olk County Middle Level Principals’ Association and has been recognized by local politicians, several organizations, and local universities. Andy Plemmons is the school library media specialist at David C. Barrow Elementary in Athens, Georgia, and a Google Certi ed Innovator.
