Success Story
The Crew Runs the Show and the Book Fair
Excelsior Springs Middle School
Excelsior Springs, MO
At Excelsior Springs Middle School, a little friendly com- petition goes a long way, and so does the Student Crew’s enthusiasm! The Book Fair chairperson shared the theme with her students and lets the crew run with it. They did everything from setup and advertising, to blogging, and creating and running the contests. The crew also helped create all of the decorations. Teachers stopped in during planning time to assist, and the Crew involves their peers by reaching out to classes, such as art, design, robotics, and music. Having peer-to-peer recruitment contribut-
ed significantly to the crew’s participation success and ultimately the Book Fair’s success, too!
