STEP 6:
SHOW YOUR GRATITUDE
Thank your volunteers for their hard work and the time they devoted to making your Book Fair a fun community event. Recognizing their efforts keeps their energy and attitude up when the Book Fair is busy, encourages them to give their best, and might just guarantee they come back to volunteer the next year. Here are some additional ways to show your gratitude:
Hang a poster in the lobby of the school with volunteer names listed on it, thanking them for contributing to a successful Book Fair.
Personalize and distribute certi cates of appreciation.
Be speci c with how they helped connect kids with more books. For example, include how many reading minutes were generated by their efforts.

refreshments and hand out small tokens of appreciation.

let them know they are entitled to an exclusive 15 percent discount on purchases from The Scholastic Store online.
Hold a gratitude raf e. Enter volunteers’ names into the raf e for each shift they worked. Give away a donated gift basket from a local merchant.
SEND A CUSTOM EMAIL! Did you know the Volunteer Tool offers a thank-you template that you can send to your volunteers? You can also post a badge
