The more volunteers you have, the more successful your Book Fair will be.

• Gives parents opportunity to participate at their child’s school
GREAT Ideas
• Start recruiting volunteers six to eight weeks before your Fair.
• Share volunteer opportunities through PA announcements, school newsletters, letters home, school events, the Book Fair homepage, and the NEW and IMPROVED Volunteer Tool in the Chairperson’s Toolkit.
• Include students! A student volunteer team, or Junior Crew, utilizes resources and talent you already have while empower- ing kids.
• Assign volunteers different roles. Divide into committees, such as All for BooksTM, decorations, etc. Toolkit keyword: VOLUNTEER
• Provide a list of jobs with time commitments and descriptions for each volunteer role. Toolkit keyword: VOLUNTEER
• Provide snacks, water, and easy, but thoughtful gifts to your volunteers.
• Thank volunteers using a special social media badge and cus- tomizable thank-you email, found in the Volunteer Tool. Toolkit keyword: SOCIAL MEDIA
• Invite volunteers to your Book Fair Preview. See pages 14-15.
