Morning Session:
Beyond a Magical Year: Designing Cohesive Independent
Reading Experiences for Students
Sustaining students’ literacy lives is not meant to be a one-teacher endeavor. It is possible for
teachers to create a reading culture in their classrooms, and to help their colleagues create
such experiences for students, too. This workshop is intended to help teacher leaders – and
others with a stake in helping students to lead literate lives – to convince other colleagues to
“jump on the reading bandwagon.”
