From Flashlight Girl to Author
Angela Cervantes
As a child, Angela Cervantes spent her summer days reading and her summer nights inviting friends to her porch to tell them scary stories. As her friends ran from her porch shrieking in fear, Angela realized she had a talent for storytelling. The author knew at a very young age she wanted to be an author, but she had never met an author nor read a novel featuring a Latinx protagonist like her. In this fun, interactive presentation, Angela will take the audience along her journey from ashlight girl and scary-story teller to published children’s author. The presentation includes: videos that children have made about Angela’s books, photographs from Angela’s life (her inspirations!), and trivia questions about favorite books.
