Reading Programs
Reach kids with a free online reading activity that
is motivating, fun to do, and easy to manage. READ 100,000 is a year-round program that works well within a school’s annual reading plan and ties in nicely with other programs like What Would You Do for Reading?®. Students join a school team and attempt to read 100,000 minutes or more, tracking their minutes online at scholastic.com/minutes. The friendly
competition keeps kids reading as they follow their progress online.

Check out this additional family program we offer you and your school, at no cost, as a way to encourage a reading culture within families. For program guides and activity ideas, look in the Toolkit under Enhanced Reading Programs, or scholastic.com/bookfairs/schools.
Parents and students at your school can try this no-cost program together. They’ll learn how to be detectives by investigat- ing informational text in a fun, interactive way. This program shares strategies for finding pertinent information in nonfiction text by scrutinizing sources that all family members will enjoy.
