Faculty Involvement
When your students reach their Book Fair goal, have your principal spend some time in jail.
Get your principal and faculty involved with simple, but impactful, efforts.
Bene ts
• Encourages more students, parents, and teachers to attend the Book Fair and its events
• Sends a clear message that the school and its leaders are com- mitted to the Book Fair and promotes a strong reading culture
GREAT Ideas
• Ask your principal to send out reminders as an automated phone message or letter, asking parents personally to attend. Toolkit key- word: PRINCIPAL LETTER
• Think of ways to include them that only require a little time but yield high impact!
• Encourage faculty to do short booktalks before, during, and after the Book Fair.
• Plan a faculty member wacky stunt or award the students a special privilege when your school meets its goal as part of the What Would You Do for Reading?® challenge-and-reward program.
• Additional wacky ideas include duct taping a faculty member to the wall or sliming the principal.
