Student Crew Earns Principal Stunt!
Berlin Intermediate School

Spring 2017 was the first time Berlin’s chairperson recruited student volunteers. With a Student Crew
of seven members, the school saw a 12 percent increase in book sales while the Crew learned invalu- able life lessons. They set a school goal to read one million words. Their plans included a hilarious prin- cipal stunt, a Family Fun Night, and Book Fair week contests. They even reached out to local businesses for donations so each student could have a book. Berlin Intermediate read 1.7 million words! The stu- dent volunteers inspired their peers to read and have fun doing it!
