STEP 4:
ENLIST STUDENT VOLUNTEERS FOR CREW AND JUNIOR CREW
More and more chairpeople are discovering the bene ts of recruiting students to help host a Book Fair in their school. Young volunteers have an almost limitless supply of energy to help you plan, set up, and work the Fair. And you can’t beat their word-of-mouth advertising!
Schools that create Crew (middle school) and Junior Crew (elementary school) teams have found that students bene t greatly from working together and taking on new responsi- bilities to accomplish Book Fair goals. Here are some of the roles that are perfect for student volunteers:
• Decoration committee: Create décor and displays within the Book Fair and throughout the school.
• Setup and pack-up committee: Help with Book Fair setup and/or pack-up before and after classes or during library time.
• Shopping helpers: Assist younger shoppers with locating speci c titles on the Fair, selecting appropriate books, and completing their Student Wish Lists.
• Baggers: Bag books at the cashier station. •Merchandising assistants: Keep displays, shelves, and
