Fair Planner

dents achieve their reading goal.

The more involved your school leaders are in the Book Fair, the better it will be!

Keep your principal in the loop

with planning, goal setting, and promotion, and enlist their help with the fun challenge-and-reward program — What Would You Do for

Reading? Have a color run, silly string the principal, or paint his/her car with special window paint.

Attracts more students, parents, and teachers to the Fair events • Sends a clear message that the

school and its leaders are committed to the Book Fair and promotes a strong reading culture

Ideas and Best Practices:

Plan a faculty member wacky stunt or award students a special privilege when your school meets its goal.

Hold a fun Hula-Hoop contest for faculty.

Reward students with extra recess and a popcorn party.

Ask your principal to send out reminders to parents as an automated phone message reminder and/or letters and emails home.

Co-host the Teacher Preview with your principal to increase teacher attendance.

Schedule special principal and faculty booktalks for the morning news and Fair events.
