Breakfast With Mr. Schu

Five Tools to Help You Host a Successful Book Fair

#1 Booktalks

scholastic.com/bookfairs/booktalks

I love booktalking and sharing books I feel passionately about. I highly recommend building

excitement in the weeks before your Book Fair by:

• Booktalking titles that will be available in the Book Fair

• Advertising the titles around the school

• Talking about specific titles during the morning announcements

• Becoming a walking advertisement for a handful of must-read books

When we share our enthusiasm for books and reading, it will rub off on our students. As we all

know, word-of-mouth is extremely effective, and you’ll see how much your students appreciate

recommendations, especially from their peers.
